Baum Festival, one of the largest electronic music festivals in Colombia, has sadly confirmed the death of one of its attendees at the 2024 edition this past weekend due to an accident, which local authorities are currently clarifying.

Unfortunately, today they shared an official statement through their social channels where they mourned the death of one of their attendees and highlighted that they are cooperating with local authorities to get to the bottom of the matter and establish the cause of death, as it was initially reported that no physical assault marks were found on the body.

One of the latest updates via the newspaper El Tiempo reports that the body of the victim, identified as 25-year-old Carlos David Ruiz, was found in a water tank at Corferias after being declared missing since the early hours of Saturday, May 25, just at the end of the first day of the Festival.

Meanwhile, sources close to the Bogotá Metropolitan Police report the existence of a video obtained from the festival’s security surveillance, where the victim can be seen accidentally falling into a water tank, and no third parties are observed to be involved, thus ruling out the theory of a premeditated violent act.

It was also reported that the young man’s body was found when the water level in the tank dropped enough to expose it to the open air and be located. The Attorney General’s Office has also taken statements from people close to Carlos Ruiz (the victim) and Corferias employees, in addition to continuing to analyze security videos to be as transparent and accurate as possible with their final report.
